Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education '&' Scientific Research and Zhanseit Tuymebayev, Kazakhstan's Minister of Education '&' Science yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding calling for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of higher education and scientific research.

The agreement between the UAE and Austria on exempting holders of special and diplomatic passports was discussed at a meeting today by Assistant Undersecretary for International Cooperation at the UAE Foreign Ministry Mohammed Abdul Raheem Abdul Jaleel and Dr. Gerald Kriechbaum.
Meanwhile, Abdul Jaleel also met Ambassador of South Korea to the UAE Chung Wong Chil. The meeting discussed the upcoming visit to the UAE by South Korean Minister of Construction, Transport and Maritime Affairs.

Damascus - The UAE has signed an organised labour importation agreement with Syria. Labour Minister, Saqr Ghobash signed the agreement for the UAE, while Syrian Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Dr. Diyala Al-Hajj Arif, also signed for her side.

![]() UAE, Malta sign anti-drug trafficking accord

The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Malta have signed an agreement for cooperation in fighting drug trafficking and organised crime.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan by Al Asri Saeed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and the Maltese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Godwin Montanaro.
Al Dhaheri described the agreement as "a fruit of strong and deep-rooted ties of friendship and cooperation between the UAE and Malta."
