Etihad gets flying rights to Japan Posted on 22/12/2008
The country's flag carrier shall start its direct flights to Japan from March 2010.
This is based on a flying rights agreement secured between the UAE and Japan last week, according to a source from the Etihad Airways Corporate Communications Department.
A press statement on Thursday said that the agreement was a result of the bilateral talks which took place in Tokyo during the past week between officials and representatives of both governments, the aviation industry and the Etihad Airways.

UAE signs air services MoU with Iran Posted on 11/12/2008
The United Arab Emirates General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Civil Aviation Organisation of Islamic Republic of Iran (CAOIRI) for regulating air flights.
The MoU was signed by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Hussein Khanlari, Vice Minister of Roads and Transportation and President of CAOIRI.

The United Arab Emirates represented by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Qatar to increase the number of flights between the two countries.

Etihad enters codeshare agreement with Malaysia Airlines Posted on 16/09/2008
Etihad Airways is to extend further its expanding global network by providing its customers with greater access to destinations in Asia, following the signing of a new codeshare agreement with Malaysia Airlines.
Under the deal, the Abu Dhabi-based airline will place its two-letter 'EY' code on Malaysia Airlines' flights between the country's capital city, Kuala Lumpur, and the popular islands of Kota Kinabalu, Penang, Kuching and Langkawi.

Damascus - The United Arab Emirates and Syria yesterday initialled Air Services Agreement (ASA) in Damascus.
The agreement was signed by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Major General Hazem Al Khadraa, Director General of the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority.
