The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) is planning to expand its financial aid programme to eight new countries next in spite of the global financial meltdown.
"We are not planning any slowdown of our activities in the backdrop of the financial meltdown. We have enough liquidity to expand our activities. Zayed Foundation and Government of Senegal sign agreement Posted on 29/12/2008
The Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works and the Government of Senegal have signed a cooperative agreement.
According to this agreement, the Zayed Foundation will execute two charity projects, one of which will be a maternity hospital while another will be construction of a number of water wells.

Abu Dhabi Municipality signs MoU with Emaar Misr to develop Sheikh Khalifa City in Cairo Posted on 18/12/2008
Under the directions of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bin Nahyan, UAE President, to develop Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Residential City in Cairo, on a site of 2.2 million sq metres of land, Abu Dhabi Municipality signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emaar Misr for Development, the wholly owned subsidiary of Emaar Properties PJSC.

Abu Dhabi Municipality has contracted Emaar Properties to build Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed City in New Cairo, Egypt, at a cost of US$100m (Dh367m).

Asmara - Paediatricians of the UAE Red Crescent sponsored 'The Giving Hands Initiative' has conduct 50 complicated surgeries on underprivileged children suffering from congenital deformities in the digestive, respiratory and reproductive systems.

The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) laid yesterday the foundation stone of a psychiatric hospital here as part of UAE efforts to develop health services in Afghanistan.
